How did you get started in figure?

I was working out in a gym that had a lot of competitors training. I had been working out off and on for a few years. However, I wasn't too interested in the serious training or diet until someone told me I didn't have the commitment it took to do it. That did it for me. I started weight training and doing my cardio on schedule. I also contacted Glenn Nowland to help me with the nutrition part of my plan. Before I knew it my body changed and I was ready to step on stage.

What has been your most memorable experience to date competing in the NPC?

By far the best experience I've had in the NPC was winning the overall at my very first show. It was one of the most shocking experiences also. Definitely didn't expect it.

What are some of the attributes that make you successful?

My determination and belief in myself will make me successful. Last year was a terrific year but I have my sights set on so much more. I'll keep climbing no matter the obstacles in my way.

What type of training approach do you utilize?

Just get it done. No sense complaining about what you need to do especially when its voluntary. No one forces you to do this.

What type of dieting approach do you utilize?

I find the diet to be the easier part of the contest prep. I'm an all or nothing type so once my deadline has approached its goodbye pizza and cookies and hello chicken and broccoli! As simple as that.

What supplements are essential to your training?

I drink a protein shake everyday along with a multi vitamin and 2 fish oil pills. Occasionally, I'll take some SuperPump.

Anybody special you’d like to thank?

I have to say thank you to Gina Trochiano (New IFBB PRO) for inspiring and showing me that hard work does pay off. Another thank you to my amazing coach, Glenn Nowland at GFORCE! Couldn't do it without you.
